  • Give it a wipe out with disposable wipes before you refill it with your groceries. Atleast once a week. Helps alot, to keep on top of it.

  • I tend to be in control of the fridge and insist that the family put things back in the same place they found them. This means that I can always find what I’m looking for quickly.

  • I like to clean it with eucalyptus spray (store bought Bosisto’s or homemade).

  • Likewise! I found Storage containers to keep little stuff in help

  • For the smell I put a small cup of bi carb soda in the fridge, it soaks up all nasty smells and doesn’t leave a smell! I also clean out the fridge before I put in my weekly groceries! :-)

  • vanilla works great in giving it a nice fresh smell.

  • I am following this question too as my fridge always seems to get messy

  • Wiping the fridge clean with vanilla essence or imitation vanilla.

  • Cool! there really are some really good comments on this!

  • I would give it a wipe down at least once a week

  • Give it a wipe out and clean up once a week. Maybe make certain spots for things?

  • Regular fridge clean outs. Every bin night I dispose of any spoiled goods from the fridge.

  • Lemon juice I’ve got to practice what I preach.

  • Make sure every thing is in containers that have tight fitting lids. Good screw top jars and maybe if they cannot help keep it tidy then they should ask to enter the fridge.

  • It’s one of those things you just have to keep on top of. A little 30 second wipe each day is a lot easier than an hour each month.

  • there are some good comments here

  • paper towel in the bottom of the crisper helps keep it clean. and underneath meat prodcts would be good too!

  • Some good advice there below.

  • You’re going to hae tongt the kids and hubby on side or you’re going to be fighting a losing battle!

  • Weekly clean out of leftovers, check dairy and spot clean (where I can see a spill). Monthly or bi-monthly clean of the shelves and drawers (out and washed). But I am lucky that my husband also does this too.
