It depends on you and bub, mine where all ready no longer waking at night and I just had to substitute during the day for warm cows milk in a cup and more food. With one of my bubs I just kept telling them my milk is no good now. The nurses told me it would take 3 days for them to really detach and that was about right. Best of luck.
I’m having trouble with night time feeds… but day time she’s off I just had to tell her no.. and give her more food.. She fusses about at times but just got to keep to it
I find my milk gradually dried up as feeds became less frequent. The more solids they were eating and the older they got, the less I breast fed. It seems you may be having other issues that are requiring you to stop now, I don’t know what those issues are, so I can’t help. Sorry
So many factors can affect this; how old is you baby? Why do you need to stop, are you having issues that can be helped? If very young contact Breastfeeding Association Australia, they may be able to assist, if your returning to work there’s the potential to pump – if you’re (like me) mum to an older toddler who insists on feeding all night and far too many times during the day there’s some tricks including bandaids on your boobs ‘opps broken’
