Hello!

She hates having a wet nappy even if its only a tiny bit wet and she wont use a potty or seat on toilet. I have tried just leaving undies on but she wont do anything until the nappy goes back on. How do I toilet train her?

  • My daughter was not ready till she was three, so I’d say maybe she needs a little more time.

  • I left potty’s around the house and encouraged her to sit on it and read a book or watch cartoon, normally when left for a few minutes she would pee.

  • Just be patient. Whenever she wants to go to the toilet, always give her the option of the potty or toilet (remind her that big girls use the toilet) and then give her the nappy if she insists. She’s still young, don’t push it. Keep pointing out the bigger girls in the playground (or cousins etc that she looks up to) and emphasise that they all go to the toilet. She’ll get there.

  • she is only 2 give her another 6 months and try again

  • just put knickers on her and dont give in even if that means her weeing in them

  • persistence. I know what a terrible answer. I am toilet training my second child now, a boy, 2. my first one was easy, this one not so. we started with no I don’t want to use the toilet, then yes I will sit on it but I wont do anything, then he sat but wont stand to wee, now he is starting to stand but number 2s we haven’t made it to the toilet for yet. we have used a reward system. is there something your daughter likes that she might start trying for you for. unfortunately toilet training happens in its own time.
