I always have a backpack for each kid when flying with puzzles, a book, something to draw or make, their favourite toy, snacks, etc. Longer flights have plenty of movies as well.

If you’re lucky you’ll have understanding air hostesses that will help out and take bub off your hands

Take a few of her favourite toys, be prepared to spend your time following her around.Try to organize a flight that might suit her sleep pattern. If she hasn’t flown before make sure you take things for her to suck on due to problems that can occur with flying .Try to let her wander as much as possible before the flight to wear her out. Fiji is great the love our babies , so do your best and relax.

Agree with another Mum, something to chew on re ear pressure. We always took paper, pencils for drawing and some colouring in books, cabin crew provided a small pack of the same.

We flew to singapore (a very long flight), fortunately there were some movies to watch which kept our very young children occupied, we were lucky, our chldren were very well behaved. One did have trouble with his ears (so did I) so make sure you take something to chew whilst taking off and just before landing, it really helped. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday.

We just got back. Make sure you take something to chew or suck on to combat the ear pressure. All the kids had issues on our plane. Make sure you shop at the village shops, money goes directly to the village and not big companies. If you plan to go on a village tour take a few books for the village kids, I wish I had, we took lollies for them though. A few chocLates on our beds for the cleaning lady made sure we had extra towels and fresh flowers in our room. Have fun, it’s amazing!

Definitely go armed with an iPad. They are a saviour on by long flight.

They will be excited, as he is on a plane he will only be allowed to walk around during safe times, but he will be fine. Pack a backpack with new little toys (quiet ones) and take an ipad for the older one. Lots of little snacks and colouring in book. The staff on planes are normally very good at helping kids too.

I never had a problem with my kids and took them on planes from age 11mths.
Take as many different things to distract as you can but remember not to take anything that makes a noise.
If they are happily distracted then dont introduce anything new…just leave well enough alone as you will need to provide distractions on the way home also.

I’ve seen kids behave the whole time. Mum and Dad take turns entertaining the child. Games on phones, watching kids movies on portable devices and lots of cuddles. Talk to the child tell them they must stay seated at all times. Take them to the movies and have them practice sitting through a movies. Give them lots of praise and reward them with a gift. A doll and clothing is fun to dress up. Enjoy your holiday.

My so has just turned two and we are about to go on his 14th flight. It’s a 3.5 hour flight and I’m nervous because he’s played up for me the last fee trips as he doesn’t like sitting still either. But I do know snacks snd colouring in work for a while. And I’ve always found the air hostesses very helpful

Hold on for dear life! Only joking. We did this trip with 2 little ones and I would suggest loads of little snacks and my friend suggested going to the $2 shop and stocking up on cheap individual ‘presents’ that can be given to the children each hour that they’re well behaved – something that they can then play with. They love unwrapped the presents and it gives them a reward whilst affording you valuable time of quiet children! Good luck.

My daughter was the same. I always tried to book for nap times but then I always had new little toys like a colouring book or a little puzzle. The hostesses have always been great too. Saying that i had one 3 hour flight when i walked up and down the aisle about 20 times….People always looked at her and smiled and no one really minded cause at least she wasnt crying 🙂 Just do your best and try not to stress or it will stress her out.
