Hello!

Hi I m looking at buying a new family car! Has anyone got a Toyota kluger or a Nissan xtrail? Would you recommend it? I have a family of 3 boys one is in a booster seat and one a baby seat I currently have a holden captiva which I find isn’t wide enough and would love to have a bit more space.

  • They are both top cars I personally would go with the Toyota they are the most reliable and hold there prices.

  • Ive had a nissan xtrail for 9 years now. The aircon needed fixing about 5 years in and a couple of other little issues but nothing major.
Although as soon as its had its day i will be getting a Toyota. My dad worked as a mechanic and has always drummed into me they are the best cars.

  • I can’t comment on the Kluger but we have an xtrail with 2 car seats on either side and plenty of space in the middle seat that I can fit to sit in there. Boot space is amazing and leg space for front and rear seats is plentiful.

  • Have you considered renting one of each for a few days to see if it works for you?

  • Also a good idea to go to dealerships and get product information from them.

  • Sorry, do not have either but it is always a good idea to read lots of product reviews from sites.

  • Toyota’s are more reliable. Nissan engines have a tendency to blow much sooner than any Toyota’s

  • Toyota Kluger has been great for us. Very reliable, and a powerful engine for long drives or pulling a trailer. Space is good for a family of five, but if you need to use the third row of seats then there is not much boot space left.

  • Sorry I can’t help as we’ve got a Toyota Avensis.
