  • I’ve had different cubby houses over the years. My experience with the wooden ones is that the weather has quite an impact on them and that the would will crack and break. I just bought a plastic one for Xmas for my youngest.

  • The closest we got to a cubby house was when I set up a tent on our back verandah with a sleeping bag inside. My daughter hardly ever used it so eventually we took it down.

  • We have friends that have a cubby house and our kids go nuts in it when they go to play with them. I suspect if we got one they’d be bored of it soon and it wouldn’t get used.

  • Got a wooden one and told to oil it from time to time so we’ll see how that goes

  • My kids used to make their own. Which was good as when they got tired of it, they knocked it down and started again, or just added on. Hours of fun outside building cubbies

  • yeah we bought a cubby for the kids. the sun will fade it soooo fast. you can re-paint it but eventually it will get weak and crack.

  • We had one for a while but spiders were a problem. Indoor teepee works really well and can be taken outdoors if weather is suitable and you feel like a change of location. Teepees work better than pop up tents or other tents as they are much more robust.

  • We’ve got a plastic cubby house we bought from Bunnings – the kids play in it if they are playing homes/kitchens or anything role play like that. We have had it for 3 years now – it’s starting to fall apart but as long as the kids still use it we will keep it until it does break.
