  • I hope you found something. When my boys were 2 or younger I only got them things they needed. Like shoes or clothes. Because they got enough toys etc from family. And they are too young to remember anyway.

  • If you’re thinking about buying a bed for your little one to move into soon, I’d buy a doona and some sheets etc. I always try to give the kids practical things, especially at this age when they don’t fully understand what it’s all about.

  • My sons getting a new bike, helmet and gloves and a ramp. Crafts, monster trucks, he’s fav DVDs. Clothes, pjs, golf clubs, outdoor activities

  • At a young age less money needs to be spent on presents.

  • A tub full of toys and activities to encourage play and development of skills was our go to present at that age.

  • We have a Christmas rule to narrow their gift lists:
    1. Something they want
    2. Something they need
    3. Something to read

  • At that age you’re really only buying for the sake of it. I like those interactive vtech toys as they catch their interest and they learn while playing.

  • For the kids santa sacks we always do:

    Something you want
    Something you need
    Something to wear
    Something to read

Plus a few nick nackie fillers.

  • Finger paints and a scrapbook that way you can keep the memories!

  • If you want him to open a bunch of things, I suggest buying some that are “too old” for him, so he can open them and have them in six months or so.

  • At that age they don’t need much or really care about gifts. We bought second hand toys from gumtree since you can get some many in great condition. Books, especially those that’s not my… series. Wooden blocks, balls, musical instruments, that sort of thing.

  • I always go to arts and craft, all the large discount stores have so many options

  • A toddler 3 wheel plastic bike from big w. My daughter had a pink one and absolutely loved it.

  • Soft foam blocks
    shape sorter
    interactive books
    Light up & sound toys

  • something creative like building blocks

  • Books. Always books. They don’t actually need a lot of presents at this age… maybe Duplo. Or a soft rag type doll, or soft toys in general.

  • Arts and craft
    Sensory play items
    First toddler bike
    Outdoor play furniture / equipment
    Books
