I like knitting. Puzzles of all kinds. Papier-mâché models. Walking my dog.

Reading, crosswords, puzzles, scrapbooking.

Reading and cooking, yoga and meditation, movies, dining out.

I guess my hobbies would be swimming, reading, yoga and spending time with friends. I would like some news ones – or more time to do the ones I have.

I like to read, I started when I was a child and have never stopped. You can pick up books cheaply at garage sales, ask for them as presents, but them online and in department stores quite cheaply.
I walk my dogs to keep fit.
I started patchwork quilting after I had my kids to try and get rid of my “baby brain”. I already knew how to sew so I was halfway there and taught myself after buying a quilting book.
Researching the family tree I also did for a couple of years. I did as much as I could on the Ancestry site for free and then paid for a months subscription and went crazy and found out a lot more.
Gardening in our backyard is really rewarding because we plant our own vegetables and herbs and eat them. They taste way better then the shops produce and no pesticides are used. It’s actually pretty easy but I found a Yates garden guide pretty helpful.

Family history research is fascinating and quite addictive once you get going! I use two sites : genesreunited.com.au and ancestry.com.au – both of which contain helpful articles, records and community boards to help you search for relatives and ancestors. It took me months to get past my grandparents but, once I did, a whole new world opened up and I managed to trace many living relatives I didn’t know about or only knew about through conversations. You can start searching for free and then pay an annual subscription to get more information if you wish to take it further. I have many hobbies ranging from creative and crafty, to tech and nerdy! I love sewing and cross stitch – both of which I find extremely relaxing; creating new recipe ideas in the kitchen – new flavours and frugal cooking; and I adore photography and family history research.
