Hello!

I have recently rekindled my love for books, now my kids are getting older I have more time to read.

What books are everyone enjoying at the moment? I just finished the Fourth Wing series by Rebecca Yarros and really enjoyed it. What other books do you recommend?

  • Oh yay! I’m glad I saw this post! I was actually going to ask this myself but now do need to! I’m very much into romance, murder mystery and some of the youth books. I like Kathy reichs books, from the bones tv series. I need to find new books so will be keeping an eye on this

  • The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue was a girl in the 1700s that prays to the wrong gods and ends up living a long life in modern era. It was great. I also loved Lessons in Chemistry about a woman in the 60s that wants to be a Chemist and her fight against sexism. It was a really good story.

  • A court of thorns and roses. It is Fantasy. My sister got me into them. Definitely hooked

  • If you want something on the lighter side, I’d also recommend you try either Jenny Colgan or Beth O’Leary. Both write books that are at heart romances, but which also look at relationships and life more broadly. Both can be very very funny too, which can be a good thing on some days.

  • I never use to have time for reading but have renowned my time to allow me to read more as I have noticed it really helps be de stress and wind down. I have been getting into the Colleen Hoover series. I wasn’t sure if I would like them but my friend suggested I try a book and I absolutely loved it.

  • I haven’t had much time for reading since having the kids but I used to love Rachael Treasures books. I keep seeing ads pop up in my Facebook feed for Tess Oliver and her online books so I’ve downloaded iBooks and hoping to find the time to read a couple

  • I’m reading Simon Green’s Ghostfinder series – I’ve read pretty much all his series’ and I enjoy them all. I’m interspersing them with Linwood Barclay’s “Bad Guys” series (the Green is fantasy, the Barclays are crime). And I’ve also recently read Julie Goodwin’s memoir, which I found warm and fascinating even though I don’t watch Masterchef.

  • On a whim my husband picked up Blood Song by Anthony Ryan and really enjoyed it. Maybe if you’re into fantasy novels you’ll like it. I’ve been reading The Confidence Woman in between the books that my toddler loves and have been really into it. I usually browse the library and go for what jumps out at me

  • Everyone has a different taste 🙂 My daughter read a lot of fantasy which I don’t really like. I like to read every thing from thrillers, crime , forensics, country romans, out back stories, real life stories to drama. I like books from Fleur McDonald and Karly Lane too, they’re very relaxing with a bit of suspense and romance.

  • I read anything and everything, but I do know our group of readers have devoured The Seven Sisters collection of books by Lucinda Riley. I haven’t read them myself as I don’t have that much time and the comment is once you start reading you cannot put it down. Currently I am too busy in my garden to do too much reading.

  • The last two books I read were Heather Mitchell’s autobiography “Everything and Nothing” and Hugh Mackay’s “The Way We Are”. Both were interesting and I would recommend them if you like books that are more factual than fiction.

  • I love anything By Colleen Hoover, Maya Linnell, Leonie Kelsall, Fleur McDonald, Karly Lane, Darry Fraser to name a few.
A couple of great books I have read recenty are The Jam Maker by Mary-Lou Stephens and The Whisky Widow by Karen Brooks.
Three Boys gone by Mark Smith was pretty good also
