Hello!

What Christmas cards do you purchase? Do you buy store bought ones or charity cards? I like to buy charity cards and calendars to give to people. Charity cards and calendars do cost a bit more but it is something I like to do, especially at Christmas time. Would love to hear your preferences.

  • I’ve never seen or heard of charity Christmas cards before. I usually get Christmas cards from the reject shop.

  • Yes, we usually buy charity cards, although we don’t send as many as we used to.

  • If I come across charity cards when I need them, I will buy them. But mostly I buy a bulk pack from some kind of discount store. It lasts for ages

  • I usually buy cards at the end of Christmas when they are on special ready for the following year.

  • cheap pack and just mainly for kids. e cards or sms lol is usually how it goes.

  • I just buy nice ones from the reject shop, need enough for a whole class to start with.

  • Last year I bought some from Pet Rescue Inc which was the place we got our beautiful rescue dog from. They also did calendars which our dog was in :)
This year I’ll probably look at the same place or one of the other charity’s online or similar.
For the kids to give out at School and Kinder I usually just buy the cheaper ones from Kmart

  • Well it depends on value for money and if I like them. As the years go on I tend not to give out as many. just close family and friends. My kids wont be giving out cards at school this year (I bet I change my mind later). They have to have nice images on them…some a just crap!

  • I have switched to sending mainly e-cards – saves the environment and saves everyone getting heaps of cards that many people just throw away.
Maybe if it is donating to charity you like at christmas you could look at other ways to help like the Kmart wishing tree or the Christmas shoeboxes for disadvantaged children.

  • I buy cards that catch my eye,if l can buy charity cards it’s even better!

  • I buy charity cards and also paste a pic of the family inside the card – best of both worlds. It feels good to buy charity cards at Christmas and I love to chat with the volunteers at the charity shop – so very sweet and giving with their time.

  • If we have had family photos taken, then I make them with a photo

  • If you can afford it try to get charity chrissy cards especially this year!!!!! A great topic as well by the way! I will have to get some charity cards for sure, thanks for the remind! :) Giving is that gift of Christmas!

  • Pretty ones in packs of10 around the $5 mark

  • I’ve bought Guide Dogs and Breast Cancer cards the last couple of years for family and friends. I also get a few extra special ones from places like Made-it. Last year I got “Happy Christmoose” ones as I love Moose. The kids just get a pack of cheap ones fro friends at school.

  • It’s usually always last minute so store bought

  • I like to support the charities and try to buy them throughout the year so it’s not such a burden at Christmas.

  • The charity ones are usually more expensive so I buy whatever I can afford at the time as it’s an expensive time of year

  • I buy a box of about 50 for $2 from a discount store. They last me for years because I usually forget to send them

  • I’m a bit ashamed to say I didn’t send any last year! But I do prefer to support a charity if I can find cards that contain the right message for the season :)
