Hello!

I feel I am living groundhog day – every day – at the moment. Am interested to find out how others avoid this feeling. What do you do to change up your daily life?

  • I think a lot of people (including myself) feel like this at various times. It’s a good idea to try new things … go to new places, try new hobbies, to change the routine.

  • I think besides the things you have to do it’s important to do something for yourself; pick up a hobby or start a project like gardening, catch up with friends, go for a run, start a study, read a book or start dance lessons

  • There are times I feel bored but it doesn’t last long.

  • Do something different. Read a book, watch a movie you’ve been hanging yo see, visit a friend etc so many options to change things up

  • Have some activity that you really look forward to, even if it’s a cheesy tv show or reading outside.

  • I guess try and get outside take in nature even if its a walk on the beach and make time for friends

  • Getting out and about is great and walking and keeping active is very important.

  • A simple change of routine can make a difference. Little things like pancakes instead of cornflakes for breakfast. Or forget the housework today and go see a movie. Be random and just DO!

  • Get out and about, to where ever. Local shops, school, library…..anywhere to be social. Visit friends and family. Join a group of some sort. Find out what, if any, what sort of volunteer programmes are available in your local area

  • Exercise helps if you can fit it in. I like routine, lists and crossing things off my lists – feeling a sense of achievement. Breaking routine is nice too – going for a quick walk during lunch rather than spending the whole day indoors. Some people escape in books but I prefer the garden

  • I think we all get a little bored sometimes. Can you plan a day out on the weekend? A walk at the beach or in a beautiful park or forest can do wonders and make you feel better. There’s restorative powers in nature,I’m sure, and sometimes when our busy lives get on top of us a hit of nature can do the trick. Best of luck.

  • I was so bored out my brain everyday at home looking after kids I just went back to work couldnt stand being loney all day and night probably not the answer for most but best thing I could do for myself

  • I am not at the moment but like you I was working fulltime and with family and work commitments I felt like this. I found that I needed to find some of time in there somewhere and thankfully had a supportive husband. So I found some by waking really early in the morning and going to a 24 hour gym for a workout not only did I get fitter I could listen to music or watch TV while I did it and all with no one looking for me. This also have me a big energy consu for the start of the day. Then my husband helped me find some of time by looking after things one evening each week while I lay in the bath or went for a walk etc. Was a great way of breaking that groundhog day.

  • This is exactly how I feel lately too ur not alone.. I’m interested in what people have to say to this question as well.. Great question by the way

  • Thank you all for your ideas. Some good ones there and some I would love to do but am just not able. I work full time so it does make fitting new things in that little bit more difficult but I will be trying to do things differently and try new things.

  • Cooking something new, read, go out for a walk, to the movies…

  • write a poem, or journal thoughts and ideas too
go for a swim or walk is a good idea true?
visit a friend or give them a call
just a few ideas no charge except for call is all
I do crosswords too, play on computer it is true
read a book or dance to fast music not in view
do anything you want to do
If you have money which I lack it is true
    shopping,massage,facial and lots more too

  • Good question, I constantly change things up and do things bit by bit, I change what I am doing long before I get bored with it, I try to also have 2 hobbies or projects on the go so I can again, do a bit of one project adnd then put it down and do a little of the other.

  • I like to do something different like go to a new coffee shop or resturant, buy a new outfit or go for a hike somewhere I haven\’t been. Maybe you could visit places in which you have had the most fun, make a cocktail once the kids are in bed and soak in the tub with some chocolate as well

  • Also; it may be useful; to get out of the house and exercise on days with you feel like this. Being involved in physical activity is good for all round health and well being.
