Hello!

Being a parent is hard work, full time hard work. My husband works away and we have a 6 month old. The lack of sleep is really starting to catch up with me and I’m finding myself feeling very run down.
What’s your go to for some self love rejuvenation that helps pick you back up so you can keep on carrying on?

  • It is amazing that you are recognising this!
Little things I do when my tank is empty
    – get in nature. When my child was a newborn I would take her for a walk to the park down the road
    – go get coffee at a random cafe
    – listen to a podcast
    – face masks. I like the sukin ones or the body shop ones.
    – colouring in (mindfulness)
    – I have a swing chair and just swinging side to side regulates me a bit

  • Try to include something that brings you joy every day. Listening and dancing to music (with your baby if needed), a bath, getting out for a walk and when you need it a nap with your baby. Be gentle with yourself xx

  • Thanks for asking this because I have enjoyed reading through the replies.

  • I make sure to take some time each say to do something by myself (eg listen to apodcast, music, cook, play a game, go have a quiet coffee, etc)

  • love these tips, thanks so much everyone and I hope those of you who were also looking for tips found something that will work for you ❤️

  • Eating well and exercising is a must too for the mind and body.

  • Alone time is a must. I am lucky that when my partner gets home from work I am able to go for a walk and listen to music. I also try to have a nice long hot bath once everyone is in bed a few times a week. Headphones in and relax.

  • I’ll be reading these responses. I’m not a young mum, but I dont like myself, I question everything I do, every choice I make I tell myself who’s going to hate me for it. I need some self love tips

  • I have always made time for my hobbies. It is so good for health and well being to be involved with the passions and projects that you enjoy.

  • For me personally having alone time is imperative to my overall happiness and wellbeing. See if you can get a few hours to do what you want. Whether it’s to sleep, have a bath or binge!

  • Coffee with friends. I usually have to take at least one of the kids with me, but it is still a great escape. Also Church – the kids go to kids club so it is just me and the baby getting lost in the worship.

  • Nice long bath with candles.

  • Due to lack of time & finance, my strategies are simple and without any cost;
-Walk outside and take some deep breaths and soak up some sun several times a day for some minutes.
-Read a book in bed before sleeping
    -Play some WordScape’s between tasks
-Treat yourself on a cup of coffee

  • A little time to do something you love. Even if it’s shopping, a massage, a haircut can make you feel alive again. Small things for myself make me feel a little better..

  • I go get a massage once in a while!
