  • I absolutely love the comment saying a walk with their teen, that is just gorgeous.
For me it’s a big mug of green tea, an episode of whatever housewives or bravo show I’ve been putting off watching, then reading a few chapters in bed after my lush skincare routine. I love it

  • Along with my comments below about writing down activities that are relaxing; it is also very important to build time into a day for activities. Similar to a schedule for maintaining a home, family activities and all other schedules; it is important to schedule in time for relaxation and take the time and do it!

  • All great tips here! I am definitely a book lover but when I run out of things to read I get stumped. I do tend to buy puzzle magazines and do them occasionally but now that the kids are older I find it hard to have that relaxing wind down time because they outlast me in staying up. I fall asleep before them lol. I miss my quiet time!

  • It is important for everyone to know what brings them joy and helps them to wind down. Health and wellbeing is so very important and strategies for winding down and relaxing is essential. Writing down the activities that bring a sense of calm and relaxation is a good first step.

  • For me i definitely tend to stay up later then i should. Just to have that alone free time without anyone needing anything from me. Whether its me catching up on shows, or just scrolling social media on my phone, I love that peace and quiet i get where nothing is expected from me!

  • Lately I’ve been going for a brisk walk around the block with my Miss 16 after dinner. Not only is it great exercise but it’s a nice bonding time with my daughter. We chat about our day and everything else in between. And now it’s day-light saving, we have no excuse. It’s our wind down time. Priceless!

  • I love routine as well, I find once i have finished doing all my daily jobs, it is nice to sit down with a cuppa of peppermint tea and do a ward search. My friend recently started creating these and she has kindly given me a couple of her books. I am loving this at the moment as it really helps me stop thinking about life and all the things i need to get done and focus on the task at hand. I also love sitting and reading a couple of chapters of a book once i get to bed. Perfect way to end the day.

  • It helps to have a set routine in place. Mine is that after dinner (while making dinner, I also make lunches), we all shower and then walk our dogs. It’s a good time to connect and talk about our days. Then we have family worship together, reading a short devotional and spending some time in prayer. Then I like to watch one episode of a show with my son, before I can watch my own show. If I have any chores to do, I do them before watching my own TV. Then I make sure I am in bed by 9.45pm and I spend a little time reading before lights out.

  • I always love to put my Pajamas on and get a cup of tea and a good book. Maybe a sneaky biscuit or dessert snack with it. Otherwise I might like to watch a movie or a TV series that I can binge on over a week and enjoy without constant interruptions.

  • For me its always been to read. Once everyone is in bed and the house is quiet is the perfect time for me. Even if I only get a chapter read I find it relaxing as im engrossed in the story and forget all my stresses.
Everyone is different though so explore to find your stress relief
