Hello!

We have ceiling fans all throughout the house and thinking of getting an air conditioner for summer, any thoughts on getting an air conditioner? Or just stick with our fans?

  • ceiling fans are great to sleep under as you don’t get too cold but can enjoy the air circulation on those warmer nights.

  • Mist definitely air conditioning.

  • Air con!

  • We have airconditioners but I don’t like them so harldy ever use them. I prefer ceiling fans.

  • Air conditioner all the way

  • The air conditioner will make your house a lot cooler then just fans. I know people who use both on really hot summer days

  • We have both. I find the fans are good for moving air around the house when it’s not super hot inside but when the house heats up, the air conditioner is worth it’s weight in gold.

  • get one and then in a heat wave, it is bliss. i don’t really use mine but last january, middle of a heat wave we had to get one! got a portable that was the right one for our room size and it was awesome! we are in a rental but you will have more options if you own your home.

  • Thinking about getting one now, would love that cold air on a very hot day

  • The fans basically blow the air around the house, so they’re good if it’s not too hot. If you want to cool the house down though, an air conditioner is the way to go

  • We have split systems in the living area and in our bedroom. But we generally just use the fans that are in all rooms.

  • You could have both options and use them as desired and have a back up in case one does not work.

  • We like split systems. Getting professional advice helps get size and placement of unit correct.

  • I love air conditioning and it is quite economical too.

  • we have fans and a reverse cycle air conditioner – the fan is good for when it isn’t too hot and you just want to circulate some air but the reverse cycle definetly helps when it is really hot and turns into a heater for winter too. Not sure how much it owuld cost.
