Hello!

It appears my health fund has increased by $300! I’m thinking of changing to Bupa. Who are you with?

  • This varies so much depending on your individual or family need.s

  • We are with Bupa and are happy with them, but I’m not sure if they are the cheapest.

  • I’m with Australian Unity and relatively happy. I think all health funds are too expensive so important to keep comparing the market. There are so many sites to help do comparisons for you…….just make sure you read the fine print for each health fund and try and get them to tailor a package to your needs so you’re not paying for things you’ll never use.

  • Westfund has been pretty good!

  • I am not really happy with ours either, the premiums are terrible

  • My family is with Bupa. Make sure you compare like with like, or decide what benefits are more important. Eg. dental cover limits

  • I am with bupa and I think they are a great quality health insurance company they have covered me a lot ,especially in mental health matters that would’ve otherwise cost me an absolute fortune .

  • We’ve been with Westfund now for about 15 years and wouldn’t change.Always receive prompt service and refunds and they cover a wide variety of services. They have gradually increased their premiums over the years , but compared to other funds it’s very minimal.

  • Our family always with BUPA, so far no problem with them.

  • they are all expensive but it is the small print you have to watch out.

  • I recently went through the process of comparing. I used Compare the Market. It was very easy and found it better than other online comparison sites (I do not work for them lol just needed my family’s insurance looked at). I didn’t end up using them to change funds, but used the options they gave me to then do my own research. Basically I used the comparison tool to narrow it down to a few options then did my own research from there. In the end we didn’t change funds, but did lower our level of hospital cover which saved some money.

  • I have been with them all!!!! I am currently with Medibank Private but had to drop hospital cover for a time as I just couldn’t afford it. I chose to do that just for a time as where I live has lots of very good public hospitals close to where I live. It is such a tough thing to afford!

  • I have been with Bupa for while now very happy with them

  • I’m looking at this too so am glad you asked the question!

  • Medibank. Price goes up, too. No escape.

  • Depends on what is important to you in your extras. I have just cancelled my extras as I was not using them. I work for an optom so I get free glasses and I get my teeth done at the university so I have opted for just hospital with CUA and the coverage is fantastic. I am covered for everything at a fraction of the price of other funds with no excess and my kids are free

  • We’re with Bupa. I haven’t looked into the others in details and they all seem to increase every year, only this year it seems like a lot more

  • We are with Bupa and think it is very similar to the others. They are all expensive and wish I could drop it and save the money.

  • We are with Bupa and in the last 3 years our cover has gone from $304 to $360 as of April this year. These increases are astounding as our wages have not gone up so we are having to find the money by cutting groceries. I would recommend iselect of comparethemarket in order to compare the different companies. I know I am intending to do so after my baby is born later this year!

  • We are with Bupa and have been for many years, I look around every year, but we have top hospital and general extras, we have had heaps of claims in the last couple of years, over $10k in dental, they paid all but about $1800 of it, and both my husband and myself have had health problems including multiple hospital admissions, they have all been settles without any hassles, easy to get thru to call centre, web site is easy to get around and we have a BUPA office nearby so can go in there if we need to, all in all, I think they offer a great level of service, cost wise they are competitive, there are some occupational funds but most people are not eligible for those so for the rest of us in the general population I think they offer a good service at a competitive price and that is what you need at the end of the day
