  • So far i havent had any other then forgetting to bake the Pavlova.

  • Starting drinking one year before starting cooking. Took an extra super long time to finish, but was surprisingly goid

  • A family member was cooking Christmas and we had raw turkey! (Lovely!)

  • trying to make caramel slice and forgetting to put the caramel in it

  • I made a slice and was in the process of putting In the pre-heated oven when one said toddler ran up beside me. In stopping the toddler and dropped the slice which scattered all over the floor. Then we decided to make a new one and cook it in a spring form tin which I had never used before. The bottom fell out and that lot went on the floor too. Of course little fingers and feet got to it first…..and scattered it, then somebody else let the dog in to clean up the mess before the floor. Except the dog decided that the fruit in it was not to her liking and pushed aside what she didn’t like. By the time the floor was thoroughly washed I decided I wasn’t making another attempt.

  • Forgot to put salt in not one… not two but ALL the dishes except the meatballs! it was a pretty bland dinner… atleast I got one compliment… “The meatballs are nice”

  • One year I decided to cook a whole Turkey started at 7am thought oh its gonna be cooked by midday but NO someone forgot to turn on the oven hahaha yep that was Me

  • The pavlova. Looked delicious – the cream was off!

  • Nothing so far, touch wood hehe

  • The only fail would be having to pluck the chicken we were having for Christmas lunch. Being a year where money was really tight, we decided to kill one of the chickens for lunch so we could have some meat. There was a chicken who was causing a lot of hassles with the children and in the chook pen with the chooks and ducks. So off with her head. Plucking her was getting to be a hard job as I had never done it before. I ended up skinning her and solved the problem. So we had a baked chicken skinless.

  • I don’t cook at Christmas – so I have no disasters!

  • I was wishing to bake but it didn’t work out

  • Oops! my comment below should read a stuffing for turkey – not a stuffing turkey!

  • Defrosted berries to Put on mini pav but just made the pavs all soggy…..next time fresh all the way

  • Pudding fell apart lol

  • I prepared some boiled meat to serve with different sauces. We lived in a house with bottled gas at that time. The meat needed to cook around 3 hours, and I didn’t realized that the bottle emptied after a while. So dinner was really delayed!!!! :-)

  • Spending love, time and care to get the best pork crackling and then burning it to a crisp

  • Making the trifle too dry. Epic fail.

  • I once tried to make a fancy trifle. The jelly didn’t set and was all through the trifle, soggy sponge cake. It didn’t look nice and tasted awful as some how it also made the custard watery!

  • One year we were all so busy catching up with family that the turkey was cooked but I forgot to put the vegetables on. The day was saved by serving hot turkey with salads. I was so embarrassed but no one seemed to mind.
