  • I am allergic to so much that my son says im from mars. I love growing succulents,so many colouors to grow, dont need to keep watering as they grown on their own, now my backyard is colourful and i can still breathe lol

  • When I buy something it’s mostly vegetables and herbs

  • Dwarf sunflowers are a new thing I’ve found, they are much shorter than the regular ones

  • I’m growing lettuce at the moment.

  • This year I bought the different coloured beetroot seedlings for my veggie patch. Wasn’t impressed and will only buy the usual purple ones from now on

  • I love succulents so easy to care for don’t need much water and some of them have beautiful flowers. It takes a lot to kill a succulent and as a bonus they multiply so you can seperate them and plant elsewhere.

  • Fruit trees or maybe neighbors be gone or even blossom trees

  • When I visit Bunnings or a nursery I just want to have a big wallet and dream of buying everything. I love trees that blossom and flowery plants and fruit & veggie plants.

  • I have been given some succulent cuttings which are taking a while to establish, but should be lovely when they start to grow.

  • Depends where you live – I’m a sucker for magnolias!!

  • Thanks for all of the terrific garden/plant suggestions – will implement some of these suggestions. Black Knights sound super interesting – will ask about it at the nursery. Thanks :)

  • Check out the potted colour at your local Bunnings, a cheap way to add some colour to your garden or pots

  • It was a basil plant in a pot from Bunnings

  • I get so inspired when I visit my local nursery – plus there are often some lovely gifts and homewares to distract me as well.

  • Look at gardens in your neighbourhood and see what plants you like, then maybe ask the home owners for the names of the plants.

  • I bought cumquat, lemon and lime trees from Bunnings and they add a beautiful citrus and fresh scent to our balcony garden. The white blossoms are pretty and it’s fantastic to be able to pick my own lemon, limes and cumquats and use the kaffir lime leaves in my cooking

  • I recently bought some Black Knights from Bunnings. they have a lovely tropical feel and looks beautiful with deep purple coloured leave.

  • Mum7108 – your garden sounds delightful! Thanks for your tip for the Teddy Bear Magnolia. Mum 81879 – I love the idea of decorated pots too – some nice colour for Summer. Thanks Mums :)

  • When I was looking to make my garden, I had a look around what grew well in my neighbourhood. I decided what I liked and what look I wanted to go for, then I spoke to my local nursery. I have a semi formal front garden with a teddy bear magnolia (grows max 3 metres high) and my back yard looks more like a country cottage with daises, agapanthus and lavender. It is important to chose your plants based on how much sun the area gets, shade plants will die in the sun and plants that need sun never flourish in the shade.

  • I’ve just bought a cyclamen. My grandson decorated a pot for me so I needed a plant to put in it. The cyclamen had really prett red flowers on it, so that’s what I got
