What strategies have you used to help your children return to school?

Hello!

My 5 year old starts full-time school next week (Prep here in Tassie). He had 3 days a week at kindergarten last year and thrived, but is not so keen to go this year. I think he will be OK on day 1, but worry about how I will get him to continue going happily. Any suggestions for those who have had reluctant returners this week (or at any time) would be much appreciated thanks!

Just be positive and talk about all the fun things he will do and learn.

Being positive and talking it up is always a good way to go. Talking about the fun things that your little one will get to do at school is important. Lots of sleep does help too.

As you say, I’m sure he will adjust. If he loved it last year, no reason why he won’t love it this year
