Hello!

After watching House Rules this week and their repurposing challenge, it really got my creative side excited! What wonderful things have you repurposed?

  • I’ve tried re purposing old furniture, I’m so bad at it and it always looks like crap. Wish I was more creative

  • My kids baby clothes. My son is expecting his first baby early next year and I’ve been having so much fun going through his old baby things to pass on to his baby

  • My favourite was a chair – sanded, painted, decorated and now a garden masterpiece!

  • I like all these comments so far! It is giving me a lot of inspiration and motivation!

  • Everything and anything gets repurposed and reused. I do not like waste. :)

  • When my mother in law passed, we were bequeathed several items of furniture from her home. We set about repurposing a couple of them. A kitchen cabinet that used to house food stuff, coffee/tea cups and some other kitchen utensils and was an ugly pink colour. We dismantled it, sanded all the panels back to bare wood and varnished it. It now sits in our lounge room with our AFL collection it, looking stunning

  • We made this bench out of a cot and double bed frame!
    Was a fun project :)

  • some great ideas here. I really like CHRISTIAL’s idea of spoons. Im going to try that.

  • Loving all these so far! It is giving me so much inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

  • It’s usually the raw materials that we repurpose as such. We’ve broken down many a pallet and used the wood for other things – mostly outdoor stuff. But my favourite little trick is hammering old spoons so they are flat and like a paddle then use them in the herb garden as little signs.

  • I redid my bedhead with a little help from my friend. Had an old wooden bedhead so got some black vinyl and wadding and a staple gun and went and recovered it and it only took a few hours and it looks awesome.

  • Pinterest is amazing for these ideas, i made a fairy garden out of a smashed terracotta pot!

  • Ooh I love House Rules! Great for inspiration :) This isn’t repurposing in terms of using an old/discarded item and turning it into something new, but is repurposing in that I got some IKEA spice racks and used them in our ensuite for some compact shelving (got the idea from Pinterest). I’m also going to mount some on the inside of our pantry door for extra storage space. They’ve come in very handy!

  • we made an out door table with pallets,a seat and hubby is working on a cubby house

  • Old pavers and 2 pallets turned into an outdoor table/bar (painted the pallets white, stood them up next to each other and placed pavers on top to create the table). Got the idea from Facebook actually.
