Hello!

Hey everyone! My partner and I would really like to go on holiday this winter with our kids. We are thinking of going to the snow and we think that Mt Buller or Mt Hotham both look great! I’ve never been to any of these places! So..Can someone tell me their experiences at one of these places and which accommodation they went with (hopefully not too expensive)? We’re thinking 2-3 nights. Thank you! :)

  • I would enjoy either. The mountains are such stunning places to be, anywhere in Australia

  • My hubby always says the Lake Mountain is perfect for younger kids, we have a 4 yr old and 7month old and will take them there next month

  • Definitely Mt Bulla

  • Bulla

  • Depends on how old your kids are but we took our children just for the day to Lake Mountain and they loved it, they are 2 and 9. We didn’t ski just took toboggans and made snowmen.

  • I have been to mount Hotham and did not really enjoy it. A few reasons.
    1. for kids ski lessons you had to get the bus to drop them off and pick them up which was a real hassle and couldn’t ski to it. Carrying skis on the bus and waiting at the stops all the time was really frustrating.
    2. the slopes were very crowded and lift queues were around 30 mins.
    3. they shut this area with all the black runs which looked fine to ski on so disappointing.
    4. ski runs very short and not really challenging.

we stayed at Zirkys which was right on the piste which was good.
