Work-life balance is different for everyone. For me, it’s about finding time to unwind and be with loved ones without feeling guilty about work. Money is important, but it’s not worth sacrificing mental health or family time. A balance means working enough to cover needs and enjoy life, while still having space for hobbies, rest, and quality time. It’s a juggling act, but setting boundaries and knowing what truly matters helps.
Such a good question. I really believe that this day and age everything seems to be so expensive and we are all just working to keep our heads above the water and no play. It really is a shame. I’m in my 30’s and find myself working to pay off a mortgage and not enjoying myself, which is taking a toll on my social life and wellbeing and also my partners. The only thing we do is put one day of the week where we do something together to enjoy ourselves.
There is work life balance and being organised is the key for me. I plan days and tasks and it keeps me on target to get things done and to allocate time wisely. I also say “no” which is important! It is important to have boundaries and to keep set times. It is not all about money, every area needs attention and family time is always a priority.
For me, working 2 days a week works well. I get that little bit of independence and I make enough money to help pay some bills. my 2 girls are good with being away from me for 2 days as well, anymore then that and they sure do let me know!
