Hello!

Mine was from my Aunt last year. All the adults in my extended family decided to do a Kris Kringle instead of buying presents for everyone. I used an online generator to enter everyones emails into and all that jazz so it would be super secret (and it’s very rare for everyone to be in the same place to do a hat draw). You could also anonymously ask who you got for an idea on what you want- I asked for a particular book.
I received from my aunt- a HDMI cable, a kids set of makeup, a screen protector (for a phone I don’t have) and a book- “Diary of a wimpy kid”. So that was my worst and funniest Christmas present ever! :D

  • I have been given white long candles like the ones you use when the power goes out.

  • I love reading about some of these gifts.

  • A relative from overseas sent my teenage daughter a doll. It wasn’t a nice looking doll either. That was kind of weird.

  • Lol, I’m thinking she cleaned out her cupboards. I sometimes do this as I win things that I won’t use and don’t want, they often end up as gifts

  • The worst present l got from Christmas was a bin!

  • lol i did- i mean i bought myself the dud. i went into a shop and saw this lovely looking black skirt and went and bought it. when i got home i went to wash it and it turned out that it was a sheet of fabric. lol i blame new baby sleepness for that. but i have never seen this before in a clothes shop

  • my nan gave my husband see-through boxer shorts – was a little bit awkward

  • XD fantastic answers Mums!
Don’t some people make you wonder!

  • It was an engagement present and it was used placemats from the opp shop with the sticker attached and food dried onto them lol

  • A hideous fake gold cat figurine. I hate cats, I don’t like gold. The gift was meant to be to value of $50. The gold paint was peeling off.

  • it seems when presents are wrong they are just so very wrong! At least you seem to be able to light of it. Hope it doesn’t happen again this year! My worst were HUGE religious statuettes that my husband always insist are put on display when his parents visit. At all other times they reside in storage – we are not religious.

  • I felt it was the worst – got a washing machine for Christmas from my ex – but he expected me to pay it off!

  • I remember asking for a pogo stick when I was about 8. I got it…but not til I was 15 :/ So not a good look to be bouncing around on one of them at that age. Not cool at all

  • Would be the year a niece took the tags off all the presents, her mum and my mum thought they had put the tags back onto the right presents. Except my husband and mine were mixed up. I received a tank top thought ok either a shirt under neath it or swimwear maybe. Until mum asked me what I thought of my present did I find out it was suppose to be a dress. My husband had been wondering if his MIL was having a joke with him. We swapped presents, both glad there had been a mistake. Still loved to have seen my hubby in the red dress.

  • One year I received a jumper from my sister-in-law without tags. I think she bought it for herself, didn’t like it, and gave it to me. She also gave me a DVD once which didn’t have the plastic wrapping, which makes me think she bought it for herself, didn’t like it, and gave it to me.

  • Wow there are lots of people that have very interesting presents.

  • A used tea-towel????? Ha! Ha!

  • EllenG89 – your used t-towel possibly trumps my dog eared Mills & Boons book! ;)

  • That’s such a random thing! We got an iron one year… weird… we already had one and not the sort of thing you give as a gift

  • Lol I had a little giggle at this, very random presents.
