Hello!

I was wondering if there are any parents out there that have children with ADHD or chronic sleep deprivation, and when did they start to notice the signs?

  • I think ADHD gets diagnosed around the time they go to school. Not sure about sleep deprivation though.

  • I don’t have anyone in the family with this, goodluck in finding your answers and help

  • There is quite a big difference in those situations, ADHD is usually picked up around the age kids start school

  • My son was diagnosed with ADHD just before he was 5

  • A mum friend of mine only just found out last year ( child aged 6 ) had ADHD. And there is a possibility that her 8 year old does too.

  • My step son was diagnosed at 5

  • my first son has ADD he was six years old when he was diagnosed, paediatrician with him on medication and I can remember staying up with him because he don’t went to sleep this went on for quite some time but eventually you started to sleep well,

  • Yes I have one child with ADHD is on medication and when he was younger he never used to sleep very well because of that medication have also found out. that it stops him from eating, but when it has a rest of the tablets on the weekends and holidays he can eat the house out, i’m not sure Son or daughter is on any medication that maybe cause

  • Both of my daughters have ADHD and every night it takes a few hours for them to go to sleep. I noticed with one of them that she was different from my elder children pretty much from birth. She put me through hell she would not sleep for more than 3 hours i was like a walking zombi. As she got older we noticed she had no impulse control but it wasn’t till she started school that we ended up taking her to a paediatrician then had her put on Riddlin so she could concentrate on her school work, it was only then that life for us at home became bearable. My advice go see a paediatrician!!

  • Have no solution I hope you get the information you require from other mums Good Luck

  • are you aware of a diagnosis or just have a suspicion?

  • That’s a tough one wish I could help
