Most preschools start accepting kids around the age of 2.5 to 3 years old, but since every child is different, this isn’t a magic number. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that,mths decision will be made for you. Most schools won’t take kids until they are of age, no matter how advanced you think your child is, it’s the educational guidelines that matter

if you are even thinking about it I would research preschool/prep now as there could quite possibly be a considerably long waiting list for your preferred centre. Your best bet is to organise visits to several of your local centres and then put his name down for any you like. Even if you don’t put him in for a little while you are best to register now.

Would depend on where you live and what state to what the age requirements are. However out our local kindy, spots fill up crazy fast so all my kids have been put on the list as babies. Wouldn’t hurt to perhaps go look at some and pre enrol.

Pre schools book up easy,they do take enrolments early these days,children need to be enrolled normally well before November for kindy as they have orientation day that year before they go.But Nov 30 was the date 2 yrs ago when my girl started.

It depends on your local shire. With mine you can apply for three year old kinder once they turn two but they must be three years of age before the first day of kinder to attend.

I had enrolled may kid when he was 1 year old. I think it your choice when you think is the right time for preschool. I had enrolled him to calling all kids again which is a preschool and educational child care center for kids between 6 week to 10 years. I would put in an interest for enrollment now as the waiting lists for kindys can be horrendously long as there is usually a high need of them all at once. Depending on where you are they usually start at 4 years old. 3 years old if their birthday is before mid June i think it is. Just check in with the kindys available round by you 🙂

depends on the area. We just go when the school says they are taking enrollments which is october for this year. Not so much of a rush to get in now as grade 7 have moved into highschool and the schools are trying to reach their quotas. So that means plenty of space. If you don’t live in the school zone for the school that you prefer, then yes, i would see about getting on a waiting list.

I have started all 5 of my kiddies at daycare at around 3 years with one day a week and slowly increasing over the year to 2 days and then the year before prep for 3 days so they are used to leaving mum, and also did school hours 8.30am until 3pm it helps so much with separation anxiety and a routine if you start them before prep and will settle better and be used to routine. If you can go to a daycare close to the school they will be attending as most children will likely to be going to the same school and it will help form friendships for them as well when they change from daycare to school yard

I did not send my kids to Pre-School. I am a stay at home Mum who has helped my kids learn to read and write and paint and plant and swim and ride bikes and play ball games and climb trees and be social with kids they meet in the park and family friends. I enrolled the kids in term 3 or 4 at our local school. I put my daughter in when she was 5 and my son stayed home until he was 6. He was the oldest in his class and the most responsible and he had no problems fitting into the school routine. Just judge each child on their own merit. Do they need to go to pre-school because you work, you would like them to socialize and or learn from other children. Shop around for schools that suit your needs. Look for schools that offer a ‘Gifted’ program for these kids and maybe a school that offer a Band or Music program that will benefit your child. Depends on the demand in your local area when my two eldest were little you would have to put them on lists as soon as they were born but with my third there was more preschools available so I put her name down when she was about 2. I’d do it as soon as you could especially if you have a preference.

ParenTs caN enrol as soon as they are born. That way they get their choice of school. Theres many on waiting lists.

In my local area all the kindys/preschools are zoned and commence enrollment from 3 years of age to start when they turn 4 years. If you are wanting to enrol in a private kindy/preschool it’s best to apply ASAP as many have waiting lists.

contact your local council, for where i live three year old kider for next year 2016 has already been processed and the first round offers have gone out. They suggest the kids has to be two when you apply and three before they attend. For four year old kinder they must be three before you apply but this will be carreid across if they have applied for three year old kinder and attend it for the full year so they get a spot. Our three year old kinder only runs for 2.5 hurs twice a week. and the four year old for 3 x 5 hours a week.
