  • Going to cows milk isn’t necessary. If you are wanting to wean just gradually decrease the amount she is having. Offer some milk or yogurt at breakfast and after dinner.

  • Definitely statt trying at 12 Months :)

  • We switched at 12 months, by swapping out one bottle a day, and then a few days later swapping out a second.

  • Great! Really very interesting comments on this!

  • My son turned one today we will be waiting till he is near the me of the tin and switching straight to cows milk, none of this water down, half half, etc stuff straight over. He should be eating almost everything at this stage. :)

  • When my son was 11 months we started doing 50/50 milk and formula. By 12 months he was on full cream milk :)

  • Cows milk is fine at 1 for most kids. My 3 yo still drinks formula but thats personal preferance

  • I have 5 kids, each went to cows milk on their first birthdays. The 5th will be the same she’s 6 months old currently – by 1 mine were all eating the family meal bar anything with nuts in it

  • I have just transitioned my daughter to cows milk, I started replacing one bottle with cows milk for a few days, then 2 bottles for a few weeks and as she wasn’t reacting differently I then changed her night bottle/s and she has been perfectly fine with it

  • How did u go

  • I think every child is unique but I will be searching through the answers as i am in the same situation!

  • Check out the Karitane feeding guide. It has some great information. We introduce cows milk on cereals etc by around 9 mths and keep building on that and increasing the volume by 12mths our youngest at transferred to all cows milk as she was mainly having solids and was not reliant upon milk. http://karitane.org.au/karitane/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Feeding-Your-Child-A4-Brochure-20Feb14.pdf

  • My clinic nurse said after one years old is perfect to go to cow milk.

  • 1 is good age to swap :) but slowly.

  • I think 1 is the general rule of thumb

  • I started to introduce it just after my childrens 1st birthday.

  • I started all my 3 on cows milk at 12 months the first bottle I gave them was watered down a bit then every bottle after that was just cows milk. And as for food you can give them almost anything just cut it up a bit smaller so it’s easier for them to eat.

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • Happy Birthday to your baby!

  • What did you end up doing?
