No I don’t decorate for Halloween and never have. We also never went out track or treating with the kids, but like the first poster I always had a jar with snacks ready for those who would knock our door. I also have a set of Halloween cookie cutters and at times I’ve baked spooky cookies for the door knockers

My kids do enjoy the fun of Halloween so I am doing the Halloween fun.Last year we were away so I really enjoy missing it and this year my kids reminded me that they want to get into the fun of Halloween.Decorations and all so here I go ,call mecrazy 🤣

Super excited for halloween this year! We’ll be setting up our front yard with all new animatronics and spooky decorations – We’re in a court so lots of kids who will enjoy the spooktivities 😀
Have added our address to the Halloween map this year so expecting lots of new trick or treaters

I love Halloween growing up and would go trick or treating, and now I’ll use it as an excuse to bake a treat for the family. unfortunately my husband is very anti the holiday. He really dislikes glorifying lollies and asking strangers for them. The only thing I detest are the fake spider webs people put in their yards. All other decorations can be reused again, but everyone throws away the webbing as it gets weathered and dirty. It’s such a wasteful practice.
I might try to sneak up some lights and just say it’s a coincidence haha

PS- I just had to mention as well that if you are doing decorations you should look into doing the ‘jars in heads’ activity. Where you take photos of your face looking squished and then you put the photo inside a jar to make it look like your head is in a jar. I’ve seen so many and they look great! I think I might do this with my kids for a bit of fun. We like to bake and make treats like green jelly cups with body part lollies in them and chocolate spiders and we watch something together like hocus pocus and let the kids give out lollies to the younger kids when they come by. It’s our little way of enjoying the season

That’s so great that you are getting excited and getting into the spirit of it all! I haven’t ever decorated our house for Halloween but then again neither does anyone in our neighbourhood. I also grew up not doing trick or treating or Halloween celebrations etc I do love seeing all the decorations for sale and I think it would be super fun to go all out with it. I am actually quite a Christmas crazy person and the minute they start selling the decos I can’t help myself so its probably financially better for us if I stick with just Christmas decorations lol Have a lot of fun with it 🎃

Whilst I am not doing Halloween but do buy sweets if any kids knock on my door they are ready for them to enjoy. I see plenty of streets getting into Halloween just like Christmas with all their decorations. In my area the kids around here have all grown up and we have no little ones around. I drive through new estates and see there are new families and the decorations are amazing. Good on them I think it’s a bit of fun and community sprite at it’s best.
