I wish I could. The basic fact is we cant survive on a single income no matter how much we cut back.

Covid is definitely an uncertain time. But I don’t think quitting is the right choice – especially if you can’t financially afford it.

Well I lost my job due to it which was not great, I want to go to work but struggling to find one so I personally would not leave a job due to this but I do need school hours or to at least start after school.

I wouldn’t quit – see if you can take leave, even if it has to be unpaid. Try to keep your connection to the workforce.

I don’t think now is the time to quit unless you have no other choice. We are working from home and juggling remote schooling – its tricky but best option if you can.

It is a choice that families and individuals need to make after weighing up all essential factors.

Such a tough decision to make. If you can afford to do it, then do it. It not only helps you, it will free up a job for someone else who can work and might need the job. My son and daughter in law are both still in employment so they have to put their son in childcare. They’re not happy about it, but realise they are lucky to still have jobs, especially as they’ve just bought a house. But they would both prefer to be home with their boy

It’s a hard place to be in. I’m a teacher and want to keep my kids home. I may have to access sick leave, carers leave, long service leave until this is all over.

I won’t be quitting my job – we desperately need the income but we are going to struggle when school goes back as I can’t home school from the office and I need to come in and can’t work from home. It’s going to be a juggling act for us, but at least I’m one of the lucky ones who still has a job (for now at least)

It really is a personal choice. If your worried about your children I think you have the answer.

I will continue to work at this time.

I don’t have that option. Since relocating from Melbourne, I have been looking for work but to no avail, and it won’t happen now! I doubt that I will get work any time soon now because of COVID-19 … a good thing in some respects, but bad in other ways ….. no money coming in and no help from the Government either …..

Do you have any other options like annual leave or other care? I know businesses are also being more accommodating during this time too.
