Having big parties can be fun, but a lot of work. Why would not having a big party for a 2nd birthday scar anyone? Having a party doesn’t meant you are any more loved than not having one! A child will remember quality time not “mum didn’t give me a big party when I was 2″

He probably won’t even remember. Just do something special with him – a treat of some kind – and it’ll be fine.

He’s two, it’s not going to scar him, he won’t remember. Just have a fun day together, lots of playing, talking, some cake, a few presents and other treats and he will have had a blast

Some presents, a birthday cake & song and a nice day out / even a picnic at the park makes for a lovely special day.
You don’t have to do a party every year. We moved this year and none of my kids had a party.

None of my three kids had a second birthday party, and I don’t think they’ve ever noticed. Ease up on yourself.

kids wont remember unless they do, you gave them a birthday cake! my kids don’t hve parties every year. they skip every 2nd year. this year my son invited a friend over, next year he will have a big one as he will also finish grade 6 too. taking your child out to a park and have a pinic or a café for a shake is better than nothing at all. main thing, make sure there is a cake and candle in the end!

my son had his 1st bday. he didn’t hve one until 4 yr old kinder. thing is they wil remember once they are at primary school because they will see children being invited to birthday parties. the problem will start there as most mum’s questions are my child hasn’t been invited to a party, should I be concerned???? just knock on wood, that case doesn’t come to you as really its part of life…its up to u if you want a party or not. my son whos 9 only remembers the most fun party and that was last year when he turned 9.

You shouldn’t worry about it. 2yo child doesn’t really care about a birthday party at this age. I would take him to have a special birthday day doing everything he likes.

Don’t even stress about it. Just make a special dinner for you guys.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all! For the same reason my daughter didn’t have her 3rd birthday party and her 6th birthday party. We didn’t know anyone around us. We made it a special day the three of us, and it was lovely for her!

kids love your full attention – make the day about your child – a picnic that they help make, kick a footy, read a book, lots of tickles and love love love xxx

Don’t feel guilty about this! Your boy is only two and he won’t remember or care.

My child didn’t remember her first two birthday parties. Once they are three, four then you may wish to address a party. My neighbour doesn’t have parties for her sons, They go away for the weekend instead.

No don’t stress he won’t remember it at that age. I think parties at such young ages are more for parents than kids!

At the age of 2 he will probably not even remember his 2nd birthday. He will just love cake at home and some little presents.

honestly the answer is no… I have an 8 year old whom only just remembers her third birthday and has no recollection of her 1st or 2nd one…

kids are flexible and he is only two
so streamers and balloons a birthday cake too
party time even if only him and you
kids music playing ,singing happy birthday too
put candles on cake even if person who blows them is you
It is still a party and fun even if only you two
Happy birthday know it will be great if you are happy too

Seriously he wont even remember but to make you feel better get a cake and presents for him and have a party with you and whoever you live with
