Hello!

I’m just wondering what other stay at home mums do for some extra cash? Apart from arts/crafts, selling unwanted items etc?

  • Freelancing Online: Sites like Upwork or Fiverr have jobs in writing, virtual assistance, data entry, and more. You can set your hours and pick projects that fit into your day.

Tutoring: If you have a background in any subject, you could tutor online. Platforms like VIPKid or Tutor.com let you teach from home, often with a lot of scheduling flexibility.

Customer Service or Chat Support: Many companies hire remote customer service reps, and some roles allow for part-time hours. This can be a good option if you enjoy helping people and don’t mind being on the phone.

  • Baking and cooking dinners for others.

  • Its worth having a look at what you did for work pre kids. Covid has made workplaces incredibly flexible and many industries that previously wouldn’t allow working from home are now happy for their employees to work from home.
Lots of people looking for virtual PA’s, editing etc

  • I do resumes, cover letters and selection criteria

  • I do online surveys but they don’t pay the bills just fills some time, my friend does some graffic design work or hair and make up for special occasions. Depends on your skills and knowledge I guess.

  • Perhaps taking in ironing, babysitting, cooking for other people.

  • I’ve just found myself a new side hustle.
    It’s doing secretariat services.
All you need is your phone and a laptop.
The company sends you a recording of what needs to be transcribed and you just do it in your own time.
They pay anywhere between $20 to $50 an hour.

  • Seek now have a section for work from home jobs. There might be something on there that you could apply for.

  • Transcriptioning and captioning. Got to be good at it to earn well, though.

  • I work in a. Customer service role that’s just recently moved home
I find it fine as my kids are a bit older

  • I write, sometimes magazines want short articles for payment. Or writing competitions pay money as prizes. You don’t have to be a great writer just write from the heart!

  • Online surveys can provide a minimal income. Other than that you would need to look at your skills and what you would like to do… might be the opportunity to start your own business??

  • Good luck with your plans!

  • I can’t think of anything apart from online surveys, which is the safest thing to do at the moment…

  • That’s great idea! I am not sure, but good luck!

  • Looking at your skill set and what you like doing might be a good starting point?

  • What about online teaching, would that be something for you ?

  • It’s difficult to find something that pays a half decent amount of money – surveys are good time fillers, but you can’t make much money. And now, due to Covid, online work is much harder to find with over 10 times more people competing for the same job …..

  • I’ve a friend who does make up and another one sells diet food, I myself foster children.

  • I’ve just started to sell unwanted items but I’ve been doing online surveys for a long time. If they don’t offer to put money into your bank you can cash your points in for gift cards. Some times I don’t pay for my shopping because of all the gift cards I’ve earned. I also used to take in ironing. Just depends on what’s available in your area and how the Coronavirus is in your area.
