It’s easy and quick to make your own peanut butter. The taste difference is amazing!

 

Homemade peanut butter

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil
  • salt to taste (optional and if you use salted peanuts you probably won’t need to add any)

Method:

  1. Process the peanuts in a food processor until finely chopped.
  2. While the processor is still mixing add the olive oil until well combined.
  3. Place peanut butter in a jar and store in the fridge.

Another option is to buy unroasted peanuts and roast them in the oven yourself before processing.

  • NO sugar. The bought ones all have sugar in them. Some peanuts seem to be fairly oily of their own accord so you may /may not need quite as much as the ingredients list says


    • In the health food isles from Coles and Wollies you have peanut butters without sugar. Even Sanatorium makes a crunchy and a smooth one without sugar.

  • Always nice to make your own nut butters. I have been making a nut free butter lately with roasted sunflower seeds, so the kids can have it on their breads to school.
