Hello!

My oldest is turning 10 and she wants to have a sleepover with just a few friends, she would like to just hang out at home and do crafts, play in the pool etc –
After some ideas of special things to do for them, while also giving them space to enjoy themselves.
Will be setting up a little movie night station in the lounge room for night time but day time ideas would be amazing!

  • I second karaoke ! A dance competition could be nice as well.

  • My daughter likes it when we set up a little lolly station. A few board games out, snacks and movies. I set a limit for my daughter for the time they must start relaxing and going to sleep so she is aware before her friends get there. They used to build cubby houses with blankets and stuff. I don’t let them use nail polished unless I am supervising as I’ve had it left open on the couch before and nail polished everywhere ????

  • Karaoke! My daughter’s friends sang for 3 hours before having a pizza and movie night. They slept like logs!

  • Nail polish station are always fun. Also like everyone else suggested, baking/cooking station too especially homemade pizza

  • They could make their own pizza and perhaps play some board games.

  • Young girls love karaoke if you have or have a friend that you can borrow one off.
I also love the idea of cooking and decorating cupcakes, or even just a fun day in the pool!

  • Have a fun cooking station where they can cook cool items, cupcakes biscuits pizza etc.

  • They could bake some cookies or cupcakes and decorate them

  • Are they into hair and make up? A beauty session could be fun. Maybe some cooking. Board games. A pinata is fun

  • My daughter had a teepee party for her 10th birthday. A local events company supplies the teepees, mattresses, pillows, decor, fairy lights etc. but I have also seen people do them with items from Kmart and sold them on Facebook marketplace after the sleepover. It was very successful and the girls loved it :)

  • I brought white hair bows and they decorated them, cookies to decorate, canvases to paint on etc. Keep all the girls happy for the afternoon before movie time. Or you could go beauty themed and do face masks, foot spas, nail polish etc.

  • Making and decorating food is always fun ie biscuits, cupcakes, brownies with different ingredients etc or make you own ‘cold rock’ style ice cream with lots of different lollies to put in. I’m sure they’d love just listening and dancing to music too.

  • A little movie night station sounds fun. Besides the craft and pool fun you could buy some make up and nail polish or face paint.

  • Dress-up clothes and get the girls to put a play together. Drama is a fun activity. I have had a Bollywood theme party where we all danced and dressed up and watched Bollywood films. I had cup cakes cooked but got the girls to decorate the tops with icing they made and coloured. Cooking popped corn themselves and flavouring that themselves. Girls love doing each others hair have a competition of crazy hair teams adding pipe-cleaners and ribbons and bows. Games like Shark and Islands is fun and Duck, Duck, Goose is always a laugh.
