Really want to utilise a new rice/slow cooker. Preferably something you can just throw in and leave.

  • I love my slow cooker. You can throw anything in it, turn it on and go about your day. I usually buy a slow cooker recipe base from coles like the farmhouse chicken casserole one gather the ingredients which are usually chicken pieces and potatoes. I add other cut up veggies, put everything together turn it on for 4hrs and stir it every now and then and presto it’s done. Quick, simple and easy.

  • You could try a beef stroganoff recipe, I find it always works well and you just stir in some sour cream at the end.

  • You can make just about any variety of soup or stew using plenty of vegetables and your choice of meat if you wish to. I know a lady who used to cook a huge amount of vegetables with some chopped chicken breasts or thighs. Some vegetables take longer to cook than others. If adding mushrooms they only take a couple of minutes so add them last. A slow cooker is ideal in a caravan. If you don’t have enough bench space it may be safe for you to use on your table.

  • a pork roast, pour over 2 jars of salsa and set it going for a delicious pulled pork. great served with rice, in a roll or with some veg.

  • Silverside and vegies.
I chuck in the silverside with a bottle of ginger ale, cut up carrots, onion and potato quite chunky and cook all together….goes down a treat in our house.

  • A good idea is to invest in a good slow cooker recipe book.
I have ones with simple and easy to prepare and cook recipes.
It was relatively cheap too and the variety of recipes is terrific!

  • Leftover vegetables and meat and a tomato sauce is a go to slow cooker meal. Pasta or rice can be added.

  • I found a really easy one online that is chicken drumsticks, soy sauce, 2 x tins of diced tomatoes and brown sugar, cooked on low for 8 hours. Makes saucy juicy chicken that falls off the bone. Can serve with rice, potato or pasta

  • Throw a shoulder of pork in there with some sauces and let it cook for 6 hours on low.
Remove excess fat and pull apart with 2 forks.

  • Moroccan Lamb Tagine is easy and delicious, I like to serve it with cous-cous and raisins

  • Lamb shanks are my go to!

  • Lentil and Pumpkin curry sounds good.
I’ve never had much luck chucking it all in and hoping for the best haha.
    The flavour is never right!

  • I usually just chuck what I have on hand in and hope for the best haha havnt been disappointed yet
