Their story sent shock waves of horror when it made news a year ago. Marina Krim returned to her New York apartment to find a horrific bloodbath – two of her small children dead from knife wounds and their nanny attempting to slash her own throat.

Now Kevin and Marina Krim and their surviving daughter have welcomed a new baby boy.

“We are very excited to share with you that Felix Harrison Krim, all 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and 21.5 inches of him, arrived today,” they wrote on Oct. 11 on the Facebook page of the foundation they set up in their late children’s names. “Marina, Felix and all of us are all healthy and happy. Thank you all for your support!” Kevin told a wellwisher that “Felix and family are doing well.”

Police allege that Lucia (Lulu), 6, and Leo, 2, were stabbed to death in the bathroom of their Upper West Side apartment by nanny Yoselyn Ortega on October 25, 2012. Marina had taken their sister, Nessie, then 3, to swimming lessons and returned to find the awful scene, with Ortega attempting to slash her own throat.

The nanny had worked for the family for about a year, and they had holidayed with her family in the Dominican Republic. Kevin Krim, a TV exec with CNBC, was away on a business trip when he got the unthinkable call.

Ortega pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but a judge found her fit to stand trial. She has now pleaded not guilty to murder but no date has been set.

The Krims, who set up the Lulu & Leo Foundation to raise funds for children’s education, are due to hold a benefit next month for the foundation. That, their new baby and their surviving child, Nessie, give them hope for the future. On Nessie’s birthday, her father wrote, “She saves us every day. Marina and I couldn’t be more proud of her – she is very smart, beautiful and tough.”
