New mum Olivia Wilde has posed for the September issue of Glamour Magazine, but it wasn’t your average photo shoot.

The 30-year-old actress can be seen breastfeeding her gorgeous son Otis, telling the publication “‘Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that. Breastfeeding is the most natural thing.”

The star, who is engaged to actor Jason Sudeikis, shared one of the images on Twitter with the caption:

“Otis ordered milkshakes. Luckily I had some on me. Then he peed on my dress. Good kid. #boobfood #whennaturecalls”

The star, who is currently filming an HBO pilot, revealed  that she never worried about juggling work and a career, thanks to the example set by her mum.

“My mom is such a badass working mother. That inspired me when I was pregnant. I wasn’t going to sacrifice myself because I was becoming a mother.”

What did you learn from your mum that you carried on with your kids?

  • I loved breast feeding my son, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. I was never embarrassed to feed him in public. My mum was often with me and always supported me and I love her for that.

  • That children develop in their own time,

  • That’s what happens (or is a chance of) when you don’t have a nappy on bub.

    • She is lucky the baby didn’t do number twos as well. (it stains some fabrics too, no matter what you use to try to remove it).My cousin always took spare tops for herself and needed one on more than one occasion even though she always used towels etc. when burping baby.

  • Great photo – hope there are many more such images, given the ridiculous attempts to censor photos of breastfeeding and the absurd demands that women be “discreet” when feeding in public etc.

Can’t say I’ve ever looked that glamourous while breastfeeding!! But I love how calm and peaceful the baby looks – beautiful!

  • Sounds like she had a great pregnancy and birth. Awesome.

My mum was amazing and taught me all my wonderful craft skills which I am now teaching my kids.
They can cook, sew, knit, play musical instruments, take photos, sing, dance and most of all have fun.

  • I learnt from my Mum that, when they get older, the children will often not remember toys and treats that you bought them, but they will nearly always remember time that you spent with them doing things that you both enjoyed.

    • I’m not so sure about not remembering the toys you had as a small child. Our parents spent a lot of time, especially on weekends doing special things with us, picnics, visiting our favourite relatives and friends, adventure holidays. farm stays etc. My brother still remembers a lot of the toys he had (mainly cars and trucks – some of them plastic and how he modified them). I remember the “walky talky” doll I had. I also rremember that I had a large tricycle. He had a trailer and he worked out how to hitch it to my bike, sat his little one in the trailer, sat on it, and guess who did all the pedalling and towing. He still remembers that and laughs about it.
