This was amazing while making a dish for the teenager, they did not notice the difference! I did find it a fraction more oily than others, but did not affect the taste of the dinner I was making.

I was very happy with this black & gold thickened cream. It was easy to work with, tasted no different to any other cream. The cream is very versatile being used in hot savoury dishes to sweet frozen dishes it did not disappoint. Whipping the cream took no longer than any other cream and it held its shape well.

The Black and Gold thickened cream is fantastic value for money, tastes great, and I found it to be such a great companion to my cooking. I added the cream into my curries, with my oats, and in cooking up a past bake, and it worked a treat.

I noticed however if I was having the cream on its own, I noticed it is a bit more watered down than some other brands of cream but for the price, it is fantastic value.

Having grown up on the Black and Gold range too, this product brings back a lot of childhood memories of mum in the kitchen with this cream and it still tastes the same, and is still the same great value. I would absolutely purchase again and totally recommend.

Compared against other thickened creams the black and gold one is sub par, however it still gets the job done. This cream whips well, it goes well over mud cake albeit slightly thinner than others. Kids also ate it without concern. I would recommend giving this a go for yourself.

I usually use cream in my coffee instead of milk, so I gave this product a try—and it didn’t disappoint. It has the same consistency and texture I like, and the container makes it easy to pour, which is a bonus. I wouldn’t mind buying it again, as it’s a great alternative to the more expensive brands. I haven’t tried using it in baking yet, but I’m keen to give that a go next time..

I’m always happy to use the cheaper alternative however this cream lacked flavour. First I tried it on chocolate cake and it tasted watered down compared to other brands. Then I tried it for cooking, I used it in scrambled eggs and mushroom sauce and the cream was perfectly fine.

We used the Thickened cream as white sauce base with our Pasta meal.
The flavour was great and it has good consistency. A big tick for no artificial colours and flavours!
Next time, we will try it as a sweet whipped cream with strawberries. I am sure it will tick the box.

I’ve purchased Black and Gold thickened cream a number of times now and I’ve never been overly impressed. I would hardly call it a thickened cream, being as runny as it is and to put it in the mixer and whip it takes an awful long time to do so and turns to butter very quickly. There’s a fine line between whipped and butter.
