Lamb shanks are such a good product to buy and to cook and to be enjoyed by the family. Lamb shanks are so good in a number of recipes.

Lamb shanks are our Sunday roast dinner. You can’t go wrong with a slow cooked lamb shank and roast veggies. The shanks makes the most beautiful gravy also!

Remember, years ago, when lamb shanks were just off cuts and pet food. Love lamb shanks that have been marinated, and cooked in a pressure cooker. A very tender meal, full of flavour.

  • Perfect for slow cooker

I have used these many times before to make a slow cooker lamb shank that just melts in the mouth. They have always been nice and fresh for us

  • Pretty good

Definitely seemed like there was more fat than meat on the bone. Wouldn’t buy again as it was just frustrating to eat and separate edible from inedible

When I was a child and young adult, lamb shanks were considered to be second grade and mainly sold as dog bones for $1 each!! I wish they were still that price because they are so expensive now, but they are really good. The meat has a different texture and taste to the rest of the lamb and it’s so good. I always do them in the slow cooker or casserole dish in the oven for about 3 hours on 150C. The meat just falls off the bone and is perfect in a stew, casserole or soup.

I’m not a huge fan of lamb, i find the taste to be quite strong, so I don’t buy these often. If you slow cook the then they come up delicious.

  • Yum yum yum

Since it’s just hubby and myself at home now, I tend to buy lamb shanks and eat them in place of roast legs of lambs. They cook up so tender and moist. Not a cheap cut of meat, surprisingly, but nor is lamb anymore. Highly recommend to everyone

I bought the lamb shanks 2 pack from my local Woolies and they were amazing they were tasty and cooked well in the oven with my special sauce

  • Not nice

A complete personal taste thing but I found the taste horrible. I had heard so many people saying how great these are so we tried but they go back to being just dog food here. They cook well and have a soft meat but the flavour is terrible.

  • Family favourite

This is a popular dish in our household! The meat is deliciously tender and juicy..I serve it on top of a massive helping of mashed potato! Perfect for the colder months!

  • Juicy & Tender!

We just tried a kilo of lamb shanks with an herb and garlic sauce in our slow cooker. Amazing results! The meat fell off the bones and each bite was a burst of flavor. Needless to say we’ll be doing this again for another big family dinner!

  • Shanks for the memories!

    5 out of 5

What can I say – lamb shanks cooked in the slow cooker in a sauce of your choice are incredible. The meat falls off the bone and the taste is out of this world! A real family favourite!
