Curry in a hurry! Naan bread in a hurry, too!  Only 4 ingredients, within 30 minutes, and you can make lovely naan bread using Greek Yoghurt.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 140g Greek Yoghurt
  • 2tsp salt
  • 1 1/4tbsp olive oil

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, place all ingredients and knead dough for 5 minutes or until smooth. (if the dough is still too sticky... add more flour)
  2. If you have time… cover the bowl with cling wrap and rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 portions and roll each portion into an oval shape with rolling pin or your hand.
  4. Heat tiny amount of oil in a frying pan over high heat, cook naan bread for 5-6 minutes, flip it, and cook both sides. (if you use non-stick frying pan, you don't need oil)
  5. Serve warm with your favourite curry.

Notes

You can add garlic or dried herbs as well.

  • Garlic and butter naans are a favourite in our family but I feel they are quite expensive to buy, which means my husband, who is Indian, misses out on the whole meal experience! But not now. I may try these with the kids, this weekend

I didn’t know it was that easy to make Naan. If I had’ve known I wouldn’t have bought a pack and just make it myself!

  • I tried this dough recipe but I must have done something wrong because my dough was very sticky and difficult to roll out even after adding so much more flour.
