A healthier option to a fried donut, these quick and easy baked donuts are tasty and look great!


Ingredients (makes 7 palm sized donuts)

  • 150g Plain flour
  • 1/3 cup Caster sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 50g Butter, melted
  • 1 egg Lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 150g Chocolate, melted (To decorate)
  • Decorations of your choice

Method

  1. Pre heat oven to 160 degrees fan forced
  2. Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl. Make a well in the middle and add in milk, butter, vanilla and egg until smooth
  3. Spoon into a sealable plastic bag, then cut 1 corner to make a hole. Pipe into your donut tray and bake for 10-12 minutes or until a skewer inserted into doughnuts comes out clean.
  4. Dip cooled donuts in melted chocolate, and decorate how you wish

Notes

Un-iced donuts can be frozen and then thawed and decorated when needed

    • I have been lucky enough to get doughnut trays in magazines as an extra – maybe keep an eye out for these offers at your local news agent.



      • Thats where I got my tray from – a magazine! Also keep a look out in second hand shops, Ive seen them there too!
