These churros will be an instant delight with the family. Add a little chocolate dipping sauce to entice those tastebuds. Adjust sugar content to suit your taste. If you have no piping bag just get a ziplock bag and cut a small hole.
Ingredients (makes 12 Churros)
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Plain flour
- 2 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable oil (plus oil for deep frying)
- 1/2 cup Sugar to taste
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
Method
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
- Heat oil for frying in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 190 degrees C. Pipe strips of dough into hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towel.
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
