These easy, puffy flat breads are perfect for curry, or to dip in soups or just as they are with a bit of butter on top.

If you prefer a flat bread not as fluffy simply leave out the egg. The garlic and herbs are also optional but I think they go well. Try adding in some grated cheese if you like a cheesy bread, just keep in mind they stick to the pan a bit more.

Easy Puff Breads

Ingredients (makes 8 )

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tsp garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 1 Tsp mixed dried herbs or 1 tbsp fresh
  • About 1 cup Plain greek yoghurt
  • Enough Self raising flour to make a dough

Method

  1. In a bowl mix together the egg, garlic, salt, herbs and greek yoghurt.
  2. Add in the flour bit by bit until it becomes a dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and not sticky. You may need to add more flour at this stage.
  4. Shape into a ruff log and chop into 2cm pieces then roll each piece out and place on a plate ready to cook.
  5. Heat frying pan and add in either butter or oil. Cook on med heat until slightly browned then flip and repeat.
