Fish in a zesty italian thick sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 kg white fish, eg hake
  • flour
  • salt
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 lemons, sliced thinly
  • 1 1/4 cups Italian dressing

Method

  1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees. Mix the flour and salt and coat the fish in it. Put fish in a shallow baking dish.
  2. Put lemon slices on top of the fish, then sprinkle with onion slices.
  3. Pour dressing over the fish.
  4. Bake fish uncovered for 45 minutes.

Notes

Great served with steamed rice. Dressing and flour will create a thickened sauce whilst baking.

  • Thankyou for sharing this recipe, I use Italian dressing constantly, never thought of using it on the fish to cook it, only use it on the salad, LOL, thinking of trying this as most fish is very bland these days due to being farmed, thanks again for an interesting way to liven up fish.
