Sometimes nothing hits the spot like a McDonald’s Big Mac, but if you’re steering clear of carbs, it’s a no-go zone. Thankfully there’s a low-carb reimagining of the Big Mac that has all of the flavour punch, without the heaviness.
This viral Big Mac Salad recipe is proving you can make friends with salad – as long as it tastes like Macca’s! It tastes almost identical to the real thing and is just as satisfying, as well as keto-friendly.
There are quite a few versions of the Big Mac Salad recipe floating around, but we love this simple one from iamn0tachef. He’s a bit loose with ingredient amounts so just adjust to your level of hunger and tastes. We’ll admit, it’s not the most beautiful salad in the world, but if you’re craving a fast food hit without the carb-loading, this is it!

How to make Big Mac Salad:

Ingredients (serves 1)
- iceberg lettuce
- onion
- pickles
- minced beef
- salt
- onion powder
- pepper
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp dijon
- 1 tsp pickle juice
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- fresh dill
- cheese
- sesame seeds
Method
- Mix salt, pepper and onion powder with the minced beef and cook.
- Shred the iceberg lettuce, dice the onion and pickles.
- Make the sauce using the mayo, tomato sauce, dijon, pickle juice, onion powder and fresh dill.
- Mix everything together and top with grated cheese and sesame seeds.
