This Macadamia chocolate crackles recipe is very quick and easy to make but so delicious!

Australia is the birthplace of macadamias and the story of The World’s Finest Nut began thousands of years ago. Today, they are grown in the same rich, fertile soils and have the natural advantage of being grown in their country of origin.

Ingredients (makes 12 )

  • 1 1/2 cups puffed rice
  • 1 1/2 cups macadamias, roasted, roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 cup raw cacao or cocoa powder
  • 200ml coconut oil, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups desiccated coconut

Method

  1. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. Place the mixture in cupcake cases on a tray and refrigerate until set.

  • I use to make something similar to this as a kid with my mum and i loved it. We didn’t include macadamia nuts though so i do love this extra ingredient to give it a bit of a different taste. This is a fun cooking activity to get the kids involved.

  • I’m looking at this in the school lunchbox section, and I don’t think it’s a school recipe. It’s got nuts in it! Most schools and a lot of after school activities ban nuts. That said, it does sound like a tasty and easy to make treat. I just wouldn’t send it to school.

  • I’d make this if macadamias were cheaper! Bet it tastes amazing though

  • I would try it with melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder and sugar.

  • Lovely recipe except for the 1,5 cups of icing sugar; I always use 1/4 cup of raw coconut palm sugar on a 1/4 cup of raw cacao powder and that is really sweet enough !
