These pork chops are sweet and delicious and so quick to make.

Ingredients (serves 2 | makes 2-3 Chops)

  • 2-3 Pork chops
  • 30ml Maple syrup
  • 20 ml Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Minced garlic

Method

  1. Trim rind from chops and score for crackling. Pound the chops till thinner. Mix all ingredients in a jug and pour over chops and crackling to marinate in fridge until ready to cook.
  2. Cook on the barbie till desired finish.
  3. Serve with either vegetables or salad of choice.

Notes

I sometimes add 1/4 tsp ginger for a different flavour and rub small amount of salt into crackling as well.

  • We’re not huge fans of pork in our home due to the taste, so I’m always trying to think of ways to improve it eg. plum sauce, marinade, etc. Maple syrup? Who would have thought. I’ll definitely try this one.

  • I cooked maple pork chops for dinner tonight. This is a fantastic recipe. The meat stayed so moist and the flavour was superb. The funny part was when my hubby came home from work and started sniffing in the air, following the aroma to the kitchen, where the chops were marinating in the maple syrup. I got a big compliment for dinner so I am passing it on to you – thanks for the recipe!

  • Maple syrup with chops, sounds delicious. I would like to know if it is cauliflower or potatoes on the plate next to the chops.
