A yummy, quick and easy slice recipe to make last minute for unexpected visitors, that forgotten cake stall fundraiser at school, or a nut-free lunch box snack.

Ingredients (makes 24 pieces)

  • ½ cup Plain Flour
  • ½ cup Self Raising Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 2/3 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Milo
  • 125g Butter, melted
  • 1 Egg, lightly whisked
  • ½ cup Choc Chips

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Combine flours, oats, coconut, sugar and Milo in a large bowl.
  2. Combine butter and egg, add to dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in choc chips.
  3. Press firmly into a lined slice tin. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

You can leave out the choc chips if you don't have any, or even replace them with raisins or nuts for something different.

  • Love the recipe, but my son’s not a big fan of Milo. We’ve tried, but no go. I can just replace it with something else.

  • Thanx for sharing. I would make it gluten and diary free, reduce and replace the sugar with raw coconut palm sugar and replace the milo with raw chocolate powder as we never have milo in the house
