A yummy, quick and easy slice recipe to make last minute for unexpected visitors, that forgotten cake stall fundraiser at school, or a nut-free lunch box snack.

Ingredients (makes 24 pieces)

  • ½ cup Plain Flour
  • ½ cup Self Raising Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 2/3 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Milo
  • 125g Butter, melted
  • 1 Egg, lightly whisked
  • ½ cup Choc Chips

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Combine flours, oats, coconut, sugar and Milo in a large bowl.
  2. Combine butter and egg, add to dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in choc chips.
  3. Press firmly into a lined slice tin. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

You can leave out the choc chips if you don't have any, or even replace them with raisins or nuts for something different.

  • I saw this recipe on theorganisedhousewife blog and tried it today. IT’S A WINNER!

It will definitely be a slice that I make repetitively. It was easy to make and I had all of the ingredients in my pantry. The problem will be stopping myself from eating it all!
