A yummy, quick and easy slice recipe to make last minute for unexpected visitors, that forgotten cake stall fundraiser at school, or a nut-free lunch box snack.

Ingredients (makes 24 pieces)

  • ½ cup Plain Flour
  • ½ cup Self Raising Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 2/3 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Milo
  • 125g Butter, melted
  • 1 Egg, lightly whisked
  • ½ cup Choc Chips

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Combine flours, oats, coconut, sugar and Milo in a large bowl.
  2. Combine butter and egg, add to dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in choc chips.
  3. Press firmly into a lined slice tin. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

You can leave out the choc chips if you don't have any, or even replace them with raisins or nuts for something different.

  • Thanks for sharing; Milo is a family-favourite in our home so this would go down a treat and of course the simplicity makes it the perfect recipe for mum too.

  • Hubby isn’t into sweet stuff but loved this. Dad loves milo & thought it was great. One tip – I have a similar recipe (done without the choc but adding walnuts) and it requires being left for one hour when mixed, for the oats to soften. It makes the finished product less chewy, which my family prefers.
