We love go serve ours with fresh butter, an assortment of jams and whipped cream on top.

Ingredients (serves 12 | makes 12 Scones (depending on size cut out))

  • 3 cups Self raising flour
  • 1 cup Lemonade
  • 1 cup Cream

Method

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 220C. The oven needs to be pre-heated fully before starting to bake your scones. During this step, please also line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Put the flour in a medium bowl. Mix together the lemonade and cream, then pour it into the flour.
  3. With a dinner knife stir together just until the flour is mostly mixed in.
  4. Turn out onto a floured work surface. The dough may still be a little wet and sticky, thats ok. With floured hands, knead it gently a few times.
  5. Now it's time to roll out and cut your shapes out with a circle cookie cutter (or your desired shape). Once on lined baking tray, use some leftover cream and brush the tops of scones with the cream
  6. Bake the scones for around 12 to 15 minutes until they have risen and the tops are golden brown
  7. Once cooled down, serve with toppings of your choice and enjoy!!

  • As a single, I’d divide this recipe by 3 and have just enough for morning tea when my friends come round. Thanks for sharing,

  • I love this recipe. It’s so much simpler than I used to make. What type of cream do you use though. Is it thickened, whipped or cooking cream?
