These Savoury Rolls are perfect for kids parties, lunchboxes or even as finger food.

Ingredients

  • 4 Sheets Pampas Puff Pastry
  • 500 grams Beef Mince (can use another meat if you prefer)
  • 1 Large Carrot, grated
  • 1 Large Potato, grated
  • 1 small Onion, grated
  • 1 packet Continental Chicken Noodle Soup ( 40 grams dry powder mix)
  • 50 grams Tasty Cheese, grated
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Sesame Seeds

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 175 degrees, fan forced. Remove puff pastry sheets from package & allow to defrost.
  2. Place mince in bowl. Add grated carrot, potato, & onion to bowl. Season with salt & pepper. Mix until well combined
  3. Divide mince mixture into four equal amounts & spread evenly over each sheet of puff pastry. Sprinkle powdered chicken noodle soup & cheese evenly over mince mixture.
  4. Roll each pastry sheet up like a swiss roll.
  5. Place rolls on to a greased oven tray leaving the exposed edge on the bottom of the roll. Slash the tops of each roll every 3-4 cm.
  6. Baste the pastry rolls with egg & sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes.

  • Ooh yum, I love the sound of these right about now! The recipe’s a little similar to my home-made Sausage Rolls, but there’s some ingredients in there I hadn’t considered. I’ll have to try these.

  • This looks delicious. I’d definitely chuck in some garlic. Interested to see how the soup mix tastes in this. I know the kids would love this too, but I also know what the dining room will look like after dinner – covered in bits of puff pastry!

  • What an excellent recipe, so easy and tasty too by the sounds of it. I’d love to add a little garlic and maybe a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the filling. Will be great for a bbq or picnic.
