These spooky bread bites are perfect for sharing – if you dare! Of course, you can make a platter suit any occasion, just change the theme.

This recipe uses NEW Wonder® 5 Star Soft White. You can also get Wonder® 5 Star Soft Multigrain, with the same great Wonder® taste you know and love. Both have a 5 Star Health Rating.

It’s the best thing since … ever!

Wonder® 5 Star is available across Woolworths and Coles stores nationally and selected IGA stores.

Families love Wonder® 5 Star and have rated it 4.77/5! Read the reviews.

Ingredients

  • Wonder® 5 Star bread
  • Cheese slices
  • Mini cucumbers
  • Or your choice of fillings
  • Spreads of your choice
  • Edible eyes
  • Ready-to-serve fried noodles
  • Various bread of cookie cutters
  • Toothpicks or mini skewers

Method

  1. Cut various shapes out of Wonder 5 Star bread.
  2. Make mini sandwiches and skewer cheese, bread and cucumber to make spooky skewers.
  3. Decorate your creations with edible eyes, faces or sliced cheese to make crosses. Ready-to-serve dried noodles can be used as spiders legs!
  4. Arrange on a platter and serve to hungry witches and wizards.

  • What a cute idea! My daughter is loving Halloween every year now, so this could be a fun little activity for us in the kitchen. She could help me with them or maybe she can create some with her friends before they go out trick or treating together next week.

  • These are too cute! I love that they are bread instead of a sugary snack! I’ll have to order some cutters because there’s no way I’m going to be able to do that by hand! Lol
This would be so cute with Christmas themes sandwhiches aswell! Thanks for sharing such a cute idea!

  • I have never done anything special food wise for halloween but ideas like this would be super awesome if you had a child who had a birthday around the same date and you were holding a party for them. Im sure all the kids would love it. Lots of fun

  • Lots of fun for Halloween parties (even though I’m not exactly a fan of Halloween). I like that they are cute rather than scary. Very clever ideas.

  • I just love the spooky bites. The spiders are great, as is the coffin. I am sure my grandkids would love these when old enough. Trying to think of what to use for the eyes, I might just use a toothpick with Vegemite and dab it on the bread. Great idea for Halloween when the time comes.

  • Awe these bread bites are just so cute. I love them, especially the little sandwich spiders . It’s a perfect recipe for those who like to do something special for Halloween. A lot of effort to go to though, hopefully everyone appreciates the work that goes into making these special treats.

  • These are really amazing. Wish I’d seen this before Halloween. I love adding spooky snacks to my kids lunch boxes on Halloween. They get a real kick out of opening their boxes to a scary but tasty surprise. Oh well I’ll save it until next year. Tha ks for sharing. 🙂

  • I’m so going to give this one a whirl! I’m thinking they’ll only be a bit spooky because mine won’t turn out perfect like this hahaha… definitely will be more on the terrifying end of the scale.

  • I don’t know where all this imagination comes from! I would never think up these things to do for Halloween, let alone have the time to do them. I am sure that I could guarantee that if I tried to make these having been shown someone’s imaginative thinking that they would most certainly not look like the articles pictured. Well done to the writer.

  • Well done to the writer. It’s way too fiddly for me though. If this is the only spooky themed thing that needed to be put together to serve guests then I guess it wouldn’t be that hard or time consuming for a Halloween themed party. Kids would absolutely love them though.

  • Man these are so clever! I am not at all into Halloween, but these are just too cute! I reckon you could come up with some other different shapes and fillings. They look like a perfect idea for a creative sandwich platter for a birthday party. I think they would be flying off the table!

  • Aw these look so cute and could make a lovely platter not only for Haloween but also for for an after school snack, a catch up with friends or a birthday gathering. Ther kids would be excited to eat it although I would be scared to eat edible eyes or those unreal looking fingers 😀
